About Anne-Isabelle

Anne-Isabelle Cloutier joined Trudel Johnston & Lespérance (TJL) in the fall of 2025, with a strong interest in complex litigation involving human rights, bioethics and access to justice. Cloutier previously clerked for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Right Honourable Richard Wagner, and before that for Justice Frédéric Bachand at the Quebec Court of Appeal, and worked as a student at the Quebec Human Rights Tribunal. Cloutier holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor (B.C.L./J.D.) with a minor in sociology from McGill University, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Toronto specializing in health law, bioethics and public policy. Cloutier's research has focused on individual autonomy in contexts of social and material vulnerability, the legal and ethical framework for medical assistance in dying and assisted reproduction, the protection of legally incapacitated people, and access-to-justice issues arising from the interaction between class actions and specialized administrative tribunals.
