About Andrew

Andrew Torbiak is a partner practising estate planning and estate administration. He handles estate administration matters for executors and administrators, including executor compensation, passing of accounts, court applications for imperfect wills, and complex intestacy issues, often working alongside the firm's litigation lawyers. His estate planning work covers blended family planning, disability planning, and interprovincial and cross-border matters, and he also assists with incapacity issues such as committeeship applications and advice to attorneys acting under powers of attorney. He earned his B.Comm (Hons) and J.D. from the University of Manitoba and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2016 and the Alberta Bar in 2021. He has coached the University of Manitoba's Legal Negotiations team since 2017 and was recognized as a Jurist of Robson Hall in 2025.
