About John

John Delaney is a partner practising estate planning, estate administration, and corporate structuring. He helps clients plan for death and incapacity, including protecting disabled and vulnerable beneficiaries, reducing the tax burden on inheritances, preserving family assets, and reorganizing corporate entities ahead of retirement or death. He was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1987 and to the Alberta Bar in 2008. He is a past chair of the Manitoba Bar Association's Wills and Estates Section and a past president of the Estate Planning Council of Winnipeg, and helped launch the provincial Wills Week public education initiative. He co-edits the Wills and Estates Decisions feature in Headnotes and Footnotes and has contributed to several Carswell publications on estate and trust law.
