About Althea
Althea Yip is a partner who leads the firm's Tax Advisory and Planning Group and is also a member of its Business Law Practice Group. She works with business and individual clients to design tax strategies for corporate reorganizations, share and asset transfers, management buy-outs, mergers and acquisitions, intergenerational transfers, trusts, private equity deals, and domestic and international tax planning, and she collaborates with the firm's wealth management and estate planning team on succession matters. On the business law side, she advises Canadian and international entrepreneurs and companies, from start-ups to multinational private corporations, on acquisitions, exit strategies, financing, commercial contracts, governance and regulatory compliance. Althea completed the joint J.D./M.B.A. program at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business, after an honours degree in health sciences and philosophy from the University of Western Ontario. She is licensed to practice in Ontario and in New York, has completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program, and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
