About Alessia

Alessia works as a senior associate across the firm's Employment and Labour, and Sports Law groups. On the management side, she counsels employers on HR issues, terminations, employment standards compliance and strategies to avoid litigation, and has litigated wrongful dismissal claims, restrictive covenant breaches and Human Rights Code matters. She advises on employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions and other corporate deals and has dealt with the Ministry of Labour, and has appeared for management in labour grievance arbitrations. Alongside this work, she represents coaches and athletes in sports law disputes, appearing in mediations, arbitrations and before various disciplinary panels, including the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada and the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. She holds a JD from Queen's University and a BA from the University of Toronto.
