Allisun Rana

About Allisun

Allisun Rana is the founder and principal of Rana Law, a boutique Aboriginal law firm led since 2000, with more than 20 years of litigation experience across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Rana's practice focuses on Crown consultation obligations, breaches of fiduciary duty, Treaty and Aboriginal rights, Indian Act matters, and First Nations governance, along with regulatory and environmental law advising First Nations on environmental assessments and major project interventions. Rana has been involved in Supreme Court of Canada litigation, including Mikisew Cree First Nation v. Canada, and holds specialized training in interest-based negotiation from the Banff Centre (2006) and the Justice Institute of British Columbia (2007). Rana holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from the University of Calgary (1996), an LL.B. from the University of Toronto (1999), and an LL.M. in Constitutional Law from Osgoode Hall Law School (2009), and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, the Calgary Bar Association, and the Advocates' Society.
