About Alex

Alex practises labour and employment law and administrative law, advising and representing a wide range of employers, including local businesses, national and international companies, non-profits, governments and Crown corporations, in both unionized and non-unionized workplaces. His practice has a particular focus on construction industry labour relations and occupational health and safety. He helps employers with hiring, workplace investigations, discipline and terminations, drafts employment contracts and workplace policies, and represents employers in wrongful dismissal and human rights matters. In his labour law practice, Alex represents employers in grievance arbitrations, union certification applications and collective bargaining, and he has appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia and various administrative tribunals. He holds an LL.B. and B.C.L. from McGill University and a B.A. from St. Francis Xavier University, and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society.
