About Alex

Alex Rice-Hoyt practises corporate and commercial law and handles real estate transactions, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, financings, and asset purchase and sale transactions. He regularly acts for financial institutions and private creditors in secured transactions. Alex has developed particular expertise in the fisheries industry, assisting fishers and fishing enterprises with licence transfers, vessel purchases and sales, and secured financing arrangements tailored to the industry, and he has experience navigating fisheries regulations and working with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. He also advises private clients, partnerships and corporations on business structuring, corporate governance and succession planning. He holds a J.D. and B.C.L. from McGill University and an Honours Business Administration degree from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. Alex is a member of the Saint John Law Society, the Law Society of New Brunswick and the Canadian Bar Association, and was called to the New Brunswick bar in 2022.
