About Allan

Allan Ritchie is a Partner and Chair of Loopstra Nixon LLP, where he leads a broad business law practice covering corporate law, tax-driven reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, finance, real estate and succession planning. He advises many of Canada's multi-generational entrepreneurial families and serves as general corporate counsel to several large privately held businesses, while also guiding financial institutions and international private capital clients through cross-border acquisitions. Allan sits on the boards of a number of private and not-for-profit organizations and previously taught Business Law, Corporate Finance and Law Firm Management as an adjunct professor at Toronto Metropolitan University's law school. His recognitions include being named Managing Partner of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Law Awards and receiving the Ontario Bar Association's Lauren Rachlin Award in 2020. He holds a BA from Queen's University, an MBA from Toronto Metropolitan University, a JD from the University of Toronto, an LLM in Tax from Osgoode Hall, and an MSc in Tax from Oxford University.
