Wray James LLP is a litigation firm in downtown Toronto, based in the DBRS Tower at 181 University Avenue near Adelaide Street. The firm handles civil and commercial litigation, employment law, and administrative and regulatory law, and its lawyers appear before tribunals and courts ranging from the Superior Court of Justice up through the Court of Appeal for Ontario and, on occasion, the Supreme Court of Canada. Managing partner Andrew Wray was called to the Ontario bar in 2002 after earning an LLB from the University of Ottawa. Partner Patrick James holds a BA from the University of Toronto and an LLB from the University of Ottawa and, earlier in a legal and public policy career, served as a senior advisor to federal and provincial cabinet ministers, including Canada's Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of National Defence.

The firm was counsel for the successful respondent in Kassburg v. Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, a 2014 Court of Appeal for Ontario decision that limited insurers' ability to shorten Ontario's standard limitation period for long-term disability claims.
