About Patrick
Patrick James is a partner at Wray James LLP practicing civil and commercial litigation, administrative and regulatory law, workplace law, and municipal and planning law. He also advises clients extensively on government and governance matters, drawing on his background in public affairs. Patrick is a former member of the Ontario Bar Association's Executive and Council and its Public Affairs Committee, and he previously chaired the editorial board of JUST Magazine. Before joining the firm, he served for several years as a senior advisor to Canada's Deputy Prime Minister and to federal and provincial cabinet ministers, including the Minister of National Defence and the Minister of Veterans Affairs, liaising with government offices and international organizations such as NATO and the United Nations. He holds a BA from the University of Toronto and an LLB from the University of Ottawa, and communicates with clients in English, French, and Spanish.
