About Veronica
Veronica Blanco Sanchez joined Emond Harnden as an associate after practising general litigation at a regional Ottawa firm. She advises public, private, and non-profit sector employers on labour and employment law, including employment standards, performance management, occupational health and safety, and human rights matters such as accommodation, harassment, and discrimination. She also supports employers on labour relations matters, including grievance handling and collective bargaining, and has experience before tribunals, civil courts, and arbitration hearings. She graduated from the University of Ottawa's English Common Law program in 2020, after completing a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) and Master of Arts, both in sociology, at the University of Waterloo. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021. She speaks fluent Spanish and does pro bono work for Capital Rainbow Refuge. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of LGBTQ+ Lawyers and is a member of the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, and the Ontario Bar Association.
