About Zakia
Zakia Jahan is a lawyer at Nelligan Law who grew up in Montreal, Quebec, and received her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University's Faculty of Law. During law school she worked as a research assistant to Professor Adelle Blackett, researching workplace issues within national and international frameworks, including the intersections of international human rights law, labour standards, and corporate social responsibility in the garment industry in Bangladesh. After law school, she articled with the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario, representing members of marginalized communities in a variety of legal matters.
