About Valerie
Valerie Helbronner is a partner at Torys with more than 25 years of experience in the development and financing of major infrastructure and energy projects across Canada. She represents many parties in these projects, including Indigenous groups, lenders, investors, developers and government bodies. As co-head of the firm's Indigenous practice, she advises on complex infrastructure matters affecting Indigenous interests and communities. Recent work includes over a decade as lead project counsel on the Wataynikaneyap Transmission Project in northwestern Ontario and advising Alto on Indigenous engagement for the proposed high-speed rail line between Quebec City and Toronto. She has also held industry roles, sitting on the board of the Canadian Wind Energy Association and serving as past chair of the Ontario Waterpower Association.
