About Troy
Troy Chalifoux is Senior Counsel at Maurice Law and has practiced law for roughly 30 years. His career started with advocacy for First Nations on land claims, followed by a role as Senior Negotiator for what is now Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, where he handled litigation, Specific Claims, and partnership negotiations across Alberta and helped bring several settlements to completion. He continues to work on claims and inter-governmental negotiations in the province. Outside of practice, Chalifoux teaches as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law and leads negotiation skills workshops for Indigenous communities through the Banff Centre's Indigenous Leadership Program.
