About Troy

Troy Atkin is an associate at Mincher Koeman Law Chambers. Born in Hampshire, England, he qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2023 and was called to the bar in Alberta in 2025. His practice focuses on high-conflict family law matters, including disputes over parenting time and decision-making, mobility and relocation, and emergency protection and restraining orders, along with general family litigation and some civil and commercial litigation. He holds an undergraduate LLB with Honours and a postgraduate master's degree in Business Law and Management from the University of Law, plus the Legal Practice Course, and trained with a national litigation firm in England before qualifying into a multi-regional firm there. After moving to Canada he completed the National Committee on Accreditation process and passed the Alberta Bar Examination in March 2025. He has represented England internationally in powerlifting and has appeared as a legal commentator on several UK media platforms.
