About Tosha

Tosha Hancott was born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a law degree from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. She was called to the Nova Scotia bar in November 2023 after articling on Bay Street in Toronto, where she gained experience in complex civil litigation, before returning to Atlantic Canada. Her practice covers personal injury, sexual assault and class action claims, and she takes a trauma-informed approach with clients. She sits on the board of Team Work Cooperative and takes part in Nova Scotia's Independent Legal Advice program for sexual assault survivors.
