About Jeff

Jeff Mitchell founded NOVA Injury Law to represent injury victims and disabled workers across Atlantic Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Criminology from Saint Mary's University and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, where he took part in pro bono legal aid work and received the Gold Key Prize on graduation. Before starting NOVA, he practised insurance law at a large regional firm before moving into plaintiff-side personal injury work. He and his wife, Dr. Laura Mitchell, an emergency physician, built the firm's model of pairing lawyers with in-house medical expertise. He founded the SMU Community Development Initiative Levy as a student and was named a Saint Mary's University Alumni of the Year in 2015.
