About Tina

Tina (Kostantina) Northrup is a Staff Lawyer at East Coast Environmental Law. She earned graduate degrees in English literature before entering the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, graduating in 2019 and being called to the bar in 2020, when she joined ECEL as a staff lawyer. Her areas of focus include energy law, climate law, environmental impact assessment law, human rights to a healthy environment, rights of nature, and Aboriginal and Indigenous law in environmental contexts. Northrup has provided public legal education in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, and has appeared before government committees and energy boards in several provinces. She teaches part-time at Schulich and received the Elizabeth May Award for Environmental Service upon completing her degree. She co-chairs the Truth and Reconciliation Committee of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society.
