About Mike
Mike Kofahl is a Staff Lawyer at East Coast Environmental Law. He graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2017, having worked with ECEL as a pro bono student during law school and earned certificates of specialization in marine law and environmental law from the Marine and Environmental Law Institute. After completing shared articles with ECEL and McKiggan Hebert, he worked as ECEL's Coastal Research Coordinator before being called to the bar and becoming a staff lawyer. His practice focuses on marine and coastal law, including coastal protection and access, marine protected areas, shipping, offshore resource regulation and wetland stewardship, along with impact assessments, regional assessments and restorative justice. Kofahl also coordinates ECEL's pro bono student and summer internship programs and facilitates restorative justice circles.
