About Thomas

Thomas McCann is an associate lawyer at Daniel Brown Law, where his practice concentrates on criminal trials and appeals. Before entering private practice, he worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney prosecuting serious drug and organized crime cases, and he also brings a background in civil law to his advocacy. His litigation experience spans the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, including jury trials, preliminary inquiries, constitutional challenges and bail hearings. Thomas is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, where he led the criminal law division of the school's legal clinic and represented economically disadvantaged clients, often securing outright withdrawals of charges. He was also selected for Osgoode's Criminal Intensive Program, shadowing criminal defence lawyers at another Toronto firm. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
