About Thomas

Tom serves clients in income tax appeals, tax and estate planning, wealth management, trusts, incorporations, corporate reorganizations, charities law and family foundations, drawing on more than 35 years advising business owners and high net worth individuals on minimizing taxes and dealing with the Canada Revenue Agency. He advises family-owned businesses on succession, reorganizations and family trusts, assists high net worth individuals with alter ego and joint spousal trusts, and has established numerous non-profit societies, registered charities and private foundations. He holds a law degree from the University of British Columbia, a Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University, a Diploma of Technology from BCIT, and has completed the three-year In-Depth Tax Program along with advanced corporate reorganizations, wealth preservation and international tax courses through the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. A Kelowna resident since 1992, he served as elected Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia for the Okanagan District for four terms and is now a Life Bencher, and he is a past president of the Kelowna Museums Society and the Kelowna Estate Planning Society. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2020.
