About Tamara

Tamara Bubis is an associate lawyer at Engel & Associates focusing on criminal law and correctional law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Ottawa in 2012 and her law degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2015. After her call to the bar in Ontario, she worked for a year at the Immigration and Refugee Tribunal in Toronto and briefly at a boutique criminal defence firm in Kingston. She works on a wide variety of criminal matters, including sexual assault, fraud, impaired driving and drug-related offences, with particular interest in parole matters, frequently appearing before the Parole Board, and assists clients found not criminally responsible or unfit before the Ontario Review Board. She is a member of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa and the Criminal Lawyers' Association of Ontario.
