About Justis
Justis Danto-Clancy studied law at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, representing clients in summary criminal matters through volunteer work at community legal clinics. He won the 2020 Sopinka Cup, the national criminal trial advocacy competition, was elected president of the students' association, and was valedictorian of his graduating class. Danto-Clancy was called to the bar in 2021, worked for two years as a sole practitioner criminal trial lawyer in Ottawa before joining Engel & Associates in 2024, and is a member of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa as well as a director of Barristers for a Better Bytown, a charity focused on Ottawa's inner-city neighbourhoods and at-risk youth.
