About Stewart
Stewart Maier is a corporate and commercial partner who advises founders, management teams, boards and investors on transactions, financings and governance. His practice covers private mergers and acquisitions, growth-stage and mid-market financings, secured lending, shareholder and investor arrangements, and commercial contracting, with clients ranging from early-stage startups to mid-size businesses he serves as outside general counsel. He also advises not-for-profit organizations and sports bodies on governance, sponsorship and event agreements. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland and raised in Calgary, Stewart was called to the Alberta bar in 2021. He completed a dual JD through the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2020.
