About Stephen

Stephen Halas is an associate practising estate litigation, trusts, power of attorney matters, and corporate structuring. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Manitoba in 2016 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2021, and was called to both the Manitoba and Ontario Bar in 2022. As a law student he took part in moot competitions and negotiation programs and served as Vice-President Equity of the University of Ottawa Common Law Student Society, and worked as a research assistant on reports for the federal Department of Justice and the United Nations Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. He regularly authors case law reviews for the Manitoba Bar Association's Headnotes and Footnotes and assisted with recent revisions to the Law Society of Manitoba's CPLED materials on estate administration.
