About Stephanie

Stephanie Lysyk is an associate at Ng Ariss Fong whose practice concentrates on Aboriginal law and Indigenous government. She holds a BA from the University of British Columbia, a PhD from Stanford University, and a JD from the University of Toronto. Stephanie has worked on both the litigation and transactional sides of Aboriginal law since articling at a national firm in 2001, advancing Aboriginal title and rights through complex litigation and agreements, and is called to the bar in BC and in Yukon. She spent over ten years as a law clerk and in-house legal counsel for a modern treaty nation in northern BC and now assists Indigenous governments with legislation and governance systems, with a particular interest in Indigenous self-government in child and family services.
