About Sonja
Lusignan has practised exclusively in family and child protection law since 2005, working primarily in collaborative divorce, mediation, and arbitration to help clients reach agreements outside court, while remaining a capable litigator when needed. She has appeared in roughly 125 trials in the Alberta Court of Justice's Family and Youth Division and about 10 Court of King's Bench family trials, and is a roster lawyer for Legal Representation of Children and Youth. She co-founded and previously chaired the Canadian Bar Association's Child Welfare and Representation of Children Subsection and sits on the board of the Calgary Association of Women Lawyers. She was given the King's Counsel designation in 2025.
