About Albert

Albert represents clients across Canada in long-term disability insurance disputes, helping them respond when benefits are delayed, denied, or cut off. He has resolved claims against major insurers including Sun Life, Canada Life, Manulife, and RBC, and has experience with cases involving chronic pain, mental health conditions, and other invisible disabilities. His results include a six-figure lump-sum buyout for a claimant being pressured back to work, close to $500,000 for a driver injured in a rear-end collision involving chronic soft tissue injury and a mild brain injury, and reinstatement of a client's monthly benefits within two weeks after an insurer tried to rely on an independent medical assessment to end the claim. Before joining Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, Albert worked at an international insurance company and a personal injury firm, giving him insight into how insurers assess and challenge claims. He earned his J.D. from Queen's University in 2014, where he received the Reuben Wells Prize, and holds a B.Comm. from McGill University.
