About Sofia
Sofia Sugumar is an associate in the firm's litigation department. She previously practised as a corporate transactional lawyer at another Canadian firm, where she drafted and negotiated contracts, and before law school she worked with the Canadian arm of a global franchise system. That combination gives her insight into both the operational and commercial sides of franchise disputes. She earned her J.D. at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she competed in and later coached the Adam F. Fanaki Competition Moot and served on the Moot Court Committee. She holds a B.Sc. in psychology, neuroscience and behaviour from McMaster University and was called to the bar in 2023.
