About Simone
Simone Ostrowski is a partner at Whitten & Lublin who earned her law degree from Queen's University and was admitted to the bar in 2014. She represents both employees and employers in union and non-union workplace disputes, covering wrongful and constructive dismissal, severance packages, harassment and human rights claims, occupational health and safety, executive compensation, and unionized workplace matters. Simone has argued cases before every level of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, along with the Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, and has made submissions to the Supreme Court of Canada. Her matters include Yee v. Hudson's Bay Company, an early case addressing how the pandemic affected severance awards, and Zigomanis v. 2156775 Ontario Inc., where she persuaded the Court of Appeal to uphold an award tied to a client's promotional contract. She has a particular interest in human rights law and has spoken on panels in that area. Outside of work, she enjoys long-distance running and hiking.
