About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Ackman is a partner at Miller Thomson practising insurance and commercial litigation, with particular focus on coverage opinions and coverage disputes, along with defending professional indemnity claims. She frequently represents architects and engineers on large projects, and insurers active in the Lloyd's of London market often retain her for complex defence work, including advising excess insurers on large claims involving project policy issues. Elizabeth has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Canada as well as Ontario's Court of Appeal, and she also represents corporate clients in a range of commercial litigation matters. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1988 and holds an LL.B. and B.A. from Dalhousie University. Elizabeth is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and The Advocates' Society.
