Simon Sigler is an associate whose practice focuses on Indigenous and commercial litigation matters. He has appeared before the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, courts across Ontario, and the Courts of King's Bench in Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada as lead counsel. His Indigenous law work covers treaty claims, land claims, environmental claims and treaty benefit claims, pursued through the courts, the Specific Claims process and Ministerial Special Representatives. Sigler also has experience in governance litigation, including judicial review of Chief and Council decisions, election appeals and removals of Chiefs and Councillors. He has represented clients in complex commercial disputes, including construction, energy and fraud matters. He holds an LL.B. (Honours) from the University of Edinburgh and is a co-author of chapters in a CanLII textbook on civil practice and procedure in Ontario.
