About AJ
AJ Macaulay joined DWF in 2025 with a background in patent litigation and trademark enforcement, after articling at a boutique intellectual property firm in Calgary. He has appeared before the Alberta Court of King's Bench and the Court of Justice, and has assisted on matters before the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Federal Courts and the Trademarks Opposition Board. Macaulay earned his J.D. from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, along with a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, also from the University of Calgary. During law school he volunteered with Student Legal Assistance, gaining advocacy experience. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 2025 and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.
