About Simon
Simon Archer is a partner at Goldblatt Partners who advises trade unions, retiree associations and boards of trustees on pension and benefits negotiations, trust administration, fiduciary issues, insolvencies, and corporate governance, working with public and private sector pension plans across Canada. He previously chaired the Stakeholder Advisory Committee of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, was asked by Ontario's Minister of Finance to speak for workers and unions in a pension funding review, and earlier served as the Ontario Expert Commission on Pensions' lead researcher. Simon also serves as a climate-governance expert with the Canada Climate Law Initiative and, since 2021, has advised the Unifor-Mexico Workers Rights Action Project on trade union capacity building. He is recognized in Best Lawyers, the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Chambers Canada for pension and benefits work, attended Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2002.
