About Sheryl
Sheryl Manychief is a Partner at Maurice Law, called to the Bar of the Law Society of Alberta in 2004 and with the firm since 2006. Earlier in her career she worked at a consulting firm on First Nations consultation for resource development projects and served as general counsel for a large First Nation, covering contracts, business structure, and Tribal governance. At Maurice Law her practice concentrates on Treaty and Aboriginal rights, particularly Specific Claims involving unlawful surrenders and expropriations of reserve land for Saskatchewan-based First Nations, with appearances before the Specific Claims Tribunal and the Federal Court of Canada. Manychief has Blackfoot heritage from the Blood Tribe in southern Alberta and Pueblo heritage from Taos Pueblo, New Mexico.
