Wills, Estates & TrustsShelley Hounsell, K.C. is senior counsel at Pressé Mason with 25 years in practice, focusing on family law and its intersections with small business and corporate law, tax, trusts and estates, and cohabitation and marriage agreements. She has appeared at every level of court in Nova Scotia and works to find practical negotiated solutions while prioritizing the wellbeing of children in family matters, including cases involving intimate partner violence. She has more recently returned to civil litigation, representing clients who have experienced workplace sexual harassment or personal injury. Shelley is an adjunct professor at the Schulich School of Law and chairs the Canadian Bar Association's National Family Law Subsection. She has presented on family law at conferences in Canada, the United States, and Europe, and to organizations including the National Judicial Institute and Nova Scotia Legal Aid. She earned her Bachelor of Science with honours from Dalhousie University in 1995 and her law degree from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 1998, and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1999.
