Vanessa Fisher is an associate at Torys in Toronto, where her work focuses on corporate law with an emphasis on private equity and investment funds. Before joining the corporate team, she practiced income tax law across domestic and international matters, including private equity deals, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and public debt and equity offerings. Her tax practice also touched on structured note products and taxation for charities and not-for-profit entities, along with advice on sales tax, GST and HST. While completing her law degree, Vanessa worked as a research assistant on government free speech policy and legislative matters. She also held leadership roles with the Business Law Association as an executive member and contributed as a staff editor to the Western Journal of Legal Studies while at Western University.
