Konata T. Lake is a partner at Torys and leads the firm's Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Group. He is also part of the M&A and Technology Groups and sits on Torys' Executive Committee. He regularly counsels startups, emerging technology companies and venture capital investors on investment and divestiture deals, from shareholder arrangements to equity stakes of different sizes and joint ventures. Konata played a significant part in the firm's ties to growing Canadian companies that are shaping how business gets done. Having practiced law in New York, he is well versed in cross-border matters and helps clients grow their presence across Canada, the United States and beyond. Before joining Torys, he clerked for the vice-chair of the Ontario Securities Commission, providing research and analysis on disputes that came before the commission.
