About Scott

Scott Dawson is a senior litigator resolving business disputes involving supply contracts, insurance and reinsurance, agency agreements, directors' duties, shareholder obligations, and real estate matters, and advises news media organizations on disputes ranging from court openness to defamation. He also provides crisis management advice and advice to lawyers facing regulatory difficulties, and has served as an adjunct professor in UBC's School of Journalism, Writing and Media. He was named BC 'Lawyer of the Year' for defamation and media law by Best Lawyers in Canada in 2015, 2018, and 2023, and has served as a Director of the Canadian Media Lawyers Association.
