Sarah Anderson Dykema is a partner in McInnes Cooper's Halifax office, working with private and public sector organizations on privacy and technology matters, including multi-national businesses entering the Canadian market, tech start-ups, hospitals, and government bodies. The practice covers Privacy Management Programs, Privacy Impact Assessments, data breach response, health information protection legislation, AI governance and policy, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, technology contracting, and intellectual property licensing. Sarah holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada, Certified Information Privacy Manager, and Certified AI Governance Professional designations through the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and holds certificates from Osgoode Hall Law School in intellectual property licensing and IT contract drafting and negotiation. Sarah is a member of the Canadian Technology Law Association, Vice Chair of the Canadian Bar Association's Privacy and Access Law Section, and a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, and earned an LL.B. from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2005 and a B.A. Honours in Psychology from Queen's University in 1997, before being called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2006.
