About Sara

Sara Dubinsky is a partner at Lidstone & Company who has practised local government law at the firm since 2009. She is a litigator advising on bylaw enforcement, judicial review, legislative analysis, conflicts of interest, and freedom of information, representing clients before the BC Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, and Provincial Court, as well as the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner and the Ombudsperson. She holds an LL.B. from the University of Victoria (2008) and a BA in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph (2005). In December 2022 Vancouver City Council appointed Dubinsky to its Building Board of Appeal as the representative of the Law Society of British Columbia, and the appointment was extended in 2023. Her recent work includes successfully defending judicial reviews for the Cowichan Valley Regional District, the Regional District of Nanaimo, and the District of North Saanich.
