About Ryan
A partner in the firm's Ottawa office practising in the Intellectual Property Litigation Department, Ryan Steeves focuses on intellectual property litigation with emphasis on complex matters related to pharmaceutical patents, high-tech patents, copyright, trademarks and trade secrets. He has appeared in all stages of litigation in federal and provincial courts on actions under Canada's Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, section 8 damages claims, technology disputes over copyright, trade secret protection and trademark disputes. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, he served as director of legal affairs for Music Canada and was an associate at a large national firm in Ottawa practicing pharmaceutical patent litigation and copyright litigation.
