About Ryan

Ryan is a partner in Halifax whose corporate practice covers commercial real estate, commercial banking, and debt financing, including renewable resource project financing. Ryan has represented REITs and national retailers in major acquisitions and financings worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and acts as informal general counsel for local technology start-ups on seed and Series A/B financings. Experience also extends to financing wind energy projects in Nova Scotia and representing lenders and developers on large-scale commercial transactions. Ryan holds a JD from Bond University (2009), an LLM from the University of Melbourne (2010), and a BA from St. Francis Xavier University (2006), and was called to the bar in Nova Scotia in 2011 and in Ontario in 2018.
