Russell Benson is a founder of Terra Law Corporation, having left equity partnership at McCarthy Tetrault LLP in 2013 to start the firm. His practice focuses on development matters and commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including complex subdivisions, rezonings, and large multi-phase master-planned communities. He assists clients with ownership reorganizations, joint ventures, and limited partnerships, and has significant experience in hotel transactions, resort development, and automobile dealership acquisitions and financings. Best Lawyers named him Vancouver Real Estate Lawyer of the Year in 2013, 2016, and 2018, and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory ranks him among the most frequently recommended practitioners in Property Development in Vancouver. He received his B.A. in Economics and his Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1989.
