About Ruby
Ruby Egit is a partner at Branch MacMaster LLP based in Toronto, where she manages the firm's Toronto office. Her practice focuses on class actions and insurance law, including coverage advice, with trial and appeal experience arguing complex contested motions for clients across Canada. Ruby also has considerable health law experience, working with physicians, chiropractors, and hospitals on civil actions, College complaints, and billing audits, and has represented long-term care homes in class actions. She began her career at Branch MacMaster in Vancouver before relocating to Toronto to join a national firm's litigation department, returning to Branch MacMaster in 2021. Ruby is a member of the Class Action Bench Bar Liaison Committee and a Practitioner Mentor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, and volunteers for Pro Bono Ontario. She earned her JD from Queen's University in 2015 and a BA (Hons) in Economics and Classical Studies from Queen's in 2012, and was called to the Ontario and British Columbia bars in 2016 and the Alberta bar in 2021.
