About Rosemary
Rosemary Irwin has spent her 30-year legal career focused exclusively on Aboriginal law, with particular emphasis on the Specific Claims process, including the analysis of historical records, legal merit assessments, and advocacy before the Specific Claims Tribunal. She has developed expertise in the Crown's fiduciary duties, the honour of the Crown, and surrender-based claims. Before joining Maurice Law in 2013, she served as legal counsel with the Department of Justice Canada's Legal Services Unit for Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, and earlier worked as a law clerk at the Federal Court of Canada. She holds a Master's Diploma in Indigenous Policy and Administration from Carleton University.
