About Rosemary

Rosemary Gallo is a Partner whose practice is limited to family law. She helps people navigate separation, divorce, parenting and contact issues, guardianship questions, and disputes over support or the division of family property, often for clients whose finances involve family businesses, shareholdings, professional practices, or assets in more than one jurisdiction. She also has notable experience in child protection cases and has helped grandparents and other relatives obtain care of children who might otherwise have gone to the Ministry. Known as a strong advocate in court, she nonetheless pushes for settlement wherever it makes sense, using mediation and other alternatives to resolve disputes outside of litigation when she can. Rosemary co-wrote portions of a CLEBC sourcebook on family law and a publication about injunctions, and she has spoken to CLEBC and CBA audiences about financial complexity in family cases, plus community sessions delivered in French. Radio-Canada's Phare Ouest once interviewed her for comment on a pandemic-era ruling about parenting schedules. Earlier in her career she was a family lawyer in Toronto, sitting on the Family Lawyers Association's board and heading its committee on child protection, where she helped write a critique of proposed Ontario legislative changes affecting children and family services.
