About Roger

Roger Swainson, K.C., is a founding partner of Swainson Miki Peskett and leads the firm's real estate group. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1983 with a law degree and was called to the bar in Alberta in 1984, the Northwest Territories in 1996, Nunavut in 2000, and British Columbia in 2024. After beginning his career in litigation enforcing real estate security, he transitioned to a solicitor role and has built a commercial real estate practice over 35-plus years, focusing on commercial lending and finance transactions and advising buyers and sellers of commercial real estate. He led a group that revised the Alberta Condominium Property Act and Regulations in 2002, and chairs a committee that funds the Frank and Carla Sojonky Chair in Prostate Cancer Research at the University of Alberta.
