About Brian

Brian's practice is currently more than 90 percent devoted to Indigenous law, with a focus on corporate and commercial matters. He has extensive experience working with First Nations on financings, structuring corporate and commercial transactions, real property development including on- and off-reserve financing, joint ventures, limited partnerships, gaming, and liaising with all levels of government. He has served as counsel for eight First Nations on corporate, social, and political issues, advised a First Nation lender in Western Canada on financings for over 10 years, and worked on projects and financings involving more than 30 First Nations across Canada, including transactions with the First Nations Finance Authority and Canada Infrastructure Bank. He has also acted for First Nations investing in large-scale energy projects and serves as counsel for Canada's largest Indigenous public subsidized residential landlord.
